"Yes, they work very well."

So many beautiful sounds come from instruments that employ a vibrating reed to make music.
There are other sounds from those instruments that make your hair stand on end and send shivers down your spine. If you've ever listened to a beginners' band, you'll know what I mean.

These clarinet reeds are used by a beginning band student who is a man of few words and fewer superlatives who, when I asked "Have you tried the clarinet reeds I sent?" replied "Yes, they work very well."

I have no other comparisons, but the music store that reconditioned the clarinet sold us a 10-pack of Rico 2.5 clarinet reeds for about $25.00 and we wanted to give the student a good basis for an instrument he will be playing for the next few years.

So I think price is competitive and quality is good. I would buy them again.
Also, the ad states "#1 New Release in Clarinet Reeds" AND the price has come down in last 30 days.

Good Beginner Reeds

Good for students. Easy to play and clear sound.

Great reeds!

Beautiful tone for a bargain price. Almost as good as the Vandoren brand reeds. I would definitely recommend these for beginners. Always remember to soak your new reeds for optimal sound! You can soak them in a cup of water or in your mouth, though in your mouth may take longer. I usually give them about 5 minutes in the cup for my first use and it works great!

Absolut empfehlenswert!

Clarinet Reeds That Play Well Above Their Price

WHAT'S IN THE BOX
Ten reeds, each in its own little sealed plastic wrapper, plus a plastic sheath for each. For £15.99 it's good going - I normally buy reeds in threes. The sheaths aren't anything special but will keep the opened reeds free from dirt or knocks in your case. Everything arrived intact, no cracked tips, which is more than I can say for some brands I've tried.

THE REEDS
Instructions say to soak them for about five minutes before first use, which I did. After letting the first one dry off slightly I fitted it to my Bb and it responded well from the first note. Easy to find the bite, good vibration across the registers, and the tone was warm enough that I didn't feel like I was fighting the reed to get something musical out of it. I've been rotating three from the pack and they're holding up fine so far.

A WORD ON "BEGINNER" REEDS
The product title markets these at beginners, but they're strength 3.0. Any teacher will tell you that's not where a new player should start. If you're comfortable on a 2.5 or already playing 3s, these are a good option. But if you're buying for a kid just starting out, go with a lower size.

OVERALL
Ten good-quality reeds with decent sheaths for under sixteen quid. I think I'll be ordering another box when these wear out.

Better than many of the other discount reeds I've found.

As a band teacher, I definitely have a bias toward the name-branded reeds. Many of the "discount" reeds my students come in with are unevenly cut from low-quality cane with an uneven grain. Often I can see that they are visibly asymmetric, and we typically average about 5-6 per box of 10 that don't work.

These seem to be a step above. All 10 reeds passed my visual inspection, and so far, 3 of the 4 reeds I've tried have worked reasonably well. They feel a little softer than the 3.5 strength listed, but that's also pretty common.

Unbranded, but surprisingly good.

I finally got around to trying these reeds and although I was a little sceptical at the reeds themselves being unbranded, they appeared on inspection, to be well made products, each being delivered in an individual plastic case with a little pouch of silica gel and individually wrapped in cellophane.

Clearly some care have gone into manufacturing and preparing these products. I didn’t want to review them however until I had test them properly on my clarinet which I have now done and performed with them on several gigs.

I was immediately surprised at how good these reeds were. Immediately responsive and with a good amount of attack and ability to reach the high notes with ease.

I chose the grade 3 strength and it is easy to play in tune with them with the only trade-off being that they are a little fluffy Dunn at the bottom E, F and F sharp.

So far they performing every bit is good with my usual Rico reeds so it will be interesting to see how long they last. Given that my clarinet playing comes in bursts and is not routinely every day all week they could last for many months or longer.

The cut is pretty perfect, and interestingly, the only difference was that they were slightly wider at the thick end but fit on my mouthpiece perfectly.

Surprisingly good.

Great Affordable Alternative with Good Sound

I got these for my daughter, who plays clarinet, as a more affordable alternative to the name brand reeds.

And honestly, they worked out really well.

She did not have any issues with them, which is always the main concern with something like this. They played smoothly, sounded good, and were consistent, which makes a big difference.

I also liked that each reed comes individually packed in its own case. It just makes everything feel a little more organized and protected instead of all of them being loose together.

Overall, a solid option if you are looking for something more budget friendly that still performs well.

They are just what we needed!

These work wonderfully and have been a great option for school band. They play well right out of the package and have a nice, consistent sound, which is really important, especially for students.

With daily use, we’re getting about a week to a week and a half out of each reed before it needs to be replaced, which feels pretty standard and expected. They hold up well during that time and don’t wear out too quickly.
I also like that they come individually packaged, which helps keep them fresh until you’re ready to use them. The strength feels accurate, and they’ve been reliable overall.

For the price, this is a really solid value, especially if you’re going through reeds regularly for school or practice. Definitely something we’ll continue to repurchase.

Solid choice for daily practice

I was looking to buy new reeds for the clarinets my kids play. This 2.5 size is great for beginners. These reeds priced great and because they use 3 reeds( rotate through them) this pack will last them a year with couple extra reeds just in case! Quality is great they feel and taste good. They produce rich, warm tone and respond well. I think these are a solid choice for daily practice and performances.
